What is Creative Arts Therapy?
Creative arts therapy is a gentle, non-talk approach that uses art, music, movement and creativity to support emotional and mental wellbeing. Unlike traditional art classes, the focus is on the process, not the product. The arts themselves are considered to have healing functions that arts therapists seek to harness to assist their clients to achieve change.
Our Services
Working with Young People & Children
Young people and children often feel pressured to “talk it out”, but they may not yet have all the words. Creative arts therapy offers a gentle, imaginative alternative — harnessing their natural creativity and playfulness. It helps young people feel heard, engaged, safe and empowered.
Benefits for young people & children include:
Learning to manage emotions, impulses and behaviour
Building emotional safety and self-worth
Using tangible creative work to reflect, retain and revisit inner experience
Boosting social, emotional and communication skills
Working with Adults
Life brings many challenges: career changes, relationships, stress, trauma, self-esteem, or simply a desire to explore your inner world in a creative way. Through the creative arts you can access, express and transform what words alone may struggle to reach.
Benefits for adults include:
Enhanced self-awareness and emotional regulation
A non-verbal pathway to processing trauma or deep feelings
Greater confidence, self-worth and sense of renewal
Creative self-discovery and personal growth
